ACOUSTIC GUITAR CLASSES

BEGINNER

Objective: To develop foundational techniques, rhythm, and basic chord knowledge for comfortable playing.

  • Learn the anatomy of the guitar and proper posture

  • Tune the guitar and play basic open chords (C, G, D, E, A)

  • Explore major and minor scales (1 octave)

  • Practice basic strumming patterns and chord transitions

  • Play simple melodies and basic songs

  • Focus on rhythm and coordination exercises

  • Grades Covered: Inital and Grade 1

INTERMEDIATE

Objective: To expand technique, learn more complex chord progressions, and build a versatile repertoire.

  • Learn scales and arpeggios in all 12 keys

  • Develop advanced strumming and fingerpicking techniques

  • Introduction to barre chords, chord inversions, and modes

  • Start applying ear training and improvisation

  • Build repertoire with folk, pop, and rock songs

  • Grades Covered: Grade 2 to Grade 5

ADVANCED

Objective: To master expressive techniques, advanced theory, and performance skills.

  • Study advanced scales and modes (harmonic minor, jazz minor)

  • Master extended chords, arpeggios, and dynamic control

  • Learn fingerstyle, percussive techniques, and alternate tunings

  • Improve improvisation and live performance skills

  • Perform complex repertoire in multiple genres

  • Grades Covered: Grade 6 to Grade 8

ADULT PROGRAMME
